BAC Volunteer of the Year:
We are pleased to announce that Cathy Baird of Inskiers Ski and Social Club was selected in February as this year's BAC Volunteer of the Year. Cathy represented BAC at the Far West Ski Association Convention in Reno Nevada. While she may not have won the bragging rights, she won our admiration by representing a great club and BAC as a whole, which some may argue is worth more! Thanks Cathy!
92nd Annual FWSA Convention:
JUNE 12-15, 2025 is coming up fast! We will be at the RIVIERA RESORT & SPA PALM SPRINGS. The convention will be hosted by Orange Council of Ski Clubs, with volunteer assistance from other councils.
You can look forward to some exciting and new activities, including the Legends Home Tour, “NEW “ Indoor Pickleball and a fun-filled Pub Crawl throughout downtown Palm Springs on Thursday; a Spa Day at the resort, Aerial Tram at Mt. San Jacinto State Park, and the 18th Annual Michael German Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday. This will be mini-golf again. These activities will be followed by the annual Pool Party, at the Oasis Pool, and then the Club Happy Hour. We will hold our 39th Annual Silent Auction & Trade Show on Friday night, where there will be lots of ski and adventure packages to bid on. We will also have 2 drawings throughout the evening, for two $250 Travel Certificates, good for any future FWSA trip.
On Saturday, we will have two very informational Snowsports Leadership Academy sessions, geared toward ski clubs and councils planned: “Club Administrative & Financial Strategies” in the morning and a second session continuing in the afternoon – “Club Administrative & Marketing Strategies”. These will be led by Craig Caples, V.P. of Marketing. We will also have a Public Affairs session on Climate Change, moderated by Environment Chair, Dave Tragethon. Our Keynote Speaker on Saturday afternoon will be Samantha DeBoer, Director of Communications for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum. The evening Reception and Awards Banquet will be the time set for honoring our many volunteers and outstanding club and council members, as well as a few very special guests. This will be followed by some amazing music with our DJ, Keith Meyer, a local DJ from the Palm Springs area. You can expect him to play all your favorites so that you can dance the night away.
